Saint Sava Academy
St. Sava Academy is a parochial school of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois. St. Sava Academy is a dual language Serbian Orthodox academy that provides children with a great educational experience in a setting that is based on core family, Orthodox, moral and ethnic cultural values. The Academy offers a comprehensive, daily, dual language program. St. Sava Academy sees each student as a child of God and a gift from God and helps them to acquire knowledge, develop skills and practice moral behavior.
St. Sava Academy offers classes beginning with preschool (age 3) and continues through the eighth grade. Classes are taught in both the English and Serbian languages. The Academy is dedicated to support the highest educational standards. Students achieve language fluency and proficiency while consistently exceeding academically on local, state and national testing. The Academy is a registered Illinois State Board of Education parochial school.
The Academy offers a secure environment, nurturing on the Orthodox faith and fostering trustworthy relationships between teacher and student. We strive to offer the necessary skills to develop each student’s uniqueness and potential and to encourage academic excellence. The Academy is committed to excellence in education and will empower its students with the knowledge, values and skills that enable them to become active participants and effective leaders in both the church and world community.
The Academy’s educational experience is an integral part of the Orthodox community whose mission is to incorporate the teachings of the Holy Orthodox Church. Students begin each day and meal with prayer and regularly attend Divine Liturgy services as a part of the Academy educational experience. This is truly the gift of a lifetime.
