End of Year Letter

“Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him.”   Psalm 37

I pray that all of us at St. Sava Academy have leaned upon this verse from the Book of Psalms throughout this year and will always continue to do so. In our modern world, there are so many things that people trust: money, fame, power and our own individual wills. As Orthodox Christians, we know that our trust only belongs in the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. When our steps are dedicated to Him, we don’t expect our way to be problem free, but we do know that we will be working according to the will of God, specifically in educating the precious students that we have in our care.

It is hard to believe that I am writing this now at the end of this academic year and that preparations are well underway for the 2019-2020 school year. It has been a year of change, challenges and opportunities for growth. It has also been a year of love, joy, learning and building.  It is my hope that your experience of this year has been positive and rewarding.

If you are looking at St. Sava Academy as a possibility for your child’s education, please email or call for more information.

One exciting development for next year is our adoption of MAP Growth testing. With this online and differentiated testing system, we will be able to use its actual data to customize teaching, set learning goals according to each standard and measure student growth over the school year. Parents and families will be getting much more information about this and will also be receiving a “Welcome Packet” with everything you need to know about the upcoming year.

May you all have a joyful, peaceful and restful Summer break. We look forward to seeing you in August. And may we all re-“commit our way to the Lord and trust in Him.”
